We are situated just off the Shell Garage roundabout in Howden (just near California Lodge Garden Centre). The field is attached on to our dog day care centre. We have a big blue sign & blue gates which you can see from the roundabout. When entering the car park, the blue gates may be locked. The code to enter the car park is the same code which you will need to enter the field itself (through the green gates). You will be sent the code (which is changed at least once daily) when your slot has been booked & paid for, in your confirmation email.
Paws & Play Yorkshire,
Hull Road,
Howden,

You can book the Paddock for exclusive use for 30 minutes or an hour. You should ensure you start to vacate the field a few minutes before your session ends to make sure you don't run into the next customer's booked slot.
30 minute sessions are £6 (for 1 - 3 dogs) and £9 (for 4 - 8 dogs). 1 hour sessions are £9 (for 1 - 3 dogs) and £12 (for 4 - 8 dogs). The field is monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day to ensure you and your dogs safety.
For a bespoke session such as a doggy birthday parties, breed meets and longer sessions, please contact us.
Yes! We have a poo bin on site where you can dispose of your dog's waste. Each owner should bring their own poo bags and ensure they pick up after their dog(s). We do have a limited number of poo bags available on site should you forget your own.
We have an outside tap and bowls/buckets available to ensure your dog stays hydrated. The tap should be securely turned off after every use and all owners must ensure no water is wasted or the tap be left on unnecessarily. This water is for dogs to drink only. It is not recommended that humans consume this water.
Absolutely! We have 24 hour CCTV monitoring of the entire premises including the car park and the paddock. The main gate as well as the gate into the paddock are padlocked at all times and the code is changed at least once daily. The fully secure fencing is checked regularly and unless your dog can jump a 2m high fence, your dog will be secure when in the paddock. With this in mind however, dogs should never be left unattended when in the paddock. Please note: the car park is not secure so please keep your dog on lead before entering the field. Once you enter the paddock, you enter the small vestibule (when you have put the code into the padlock). You need to then enter the paddock itself by going through the other green gate. You may leave your leads in the vestibule should you wish. The fence around the paddock goes right to the ground so dogs should not be able to fit under it. Please do not allow your dog to dig anywhere in the field but take special care near the fence as it may be possible for your dog to dig out, given enough time.
The field is maintained to a high standard and checked for cleanliness and for safety reasons multiple times a day. We make every effort to ensure the safety of you and your dog(s) but accidents can happen. Please ensure you read our T&Cs and be aware you use the field entirely at your own risk.
For the sake of all other pups and their owners, please ensure you leave the field as you would wish to find it. For example, you must pick up your dogs waste and please do not littler or leave chewed up toys anywhere on the field. Please take any litter home with you and do not put it in the smelly bin. Please wear appropriate footwear as the majority of the paddock is grass and it can get wet and muddy.
The day care centre which is next to the paddock is not accessible when using the field. This is securely locked and alarmed when not in use for day care.
Yes! We have a large parking area available just outside of the field. When you come in the big blue gates, you may park anywhere on the gravel/stones. Please be aware, although you can close the blue gate behind you, this is not a secure area and your dog should be on the lead at all times, before you get into the paddock. Parking is only for those using the paddock and is monitored by CCTV.
Our Paws & Play Yorkshire day care centre is open Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm so the Paddock is in use during those times! We also have dog trainers in the centre (both inside and outside) on a Monday evening (6pm - 8pm) as standard who are fantastic! You can sign up to their classes by using Suzi & Jason's details on the contact page.
We want to be able to provide a positive routine for our day care pups and thus don't allow non-day care dogs (or any humans besides our day care coordinators) in the field or on the premises when we are using it. Similarly, our Paddock is used by owners for many different reasons and we pride ourselves on being able to offer sole use of the field.
Customers are advised to check the weather forecast in advance of booking the Paddock as we cannot accept cancellations once booking has been confirmed. We're in the process of getting a shelter but currently, there is no shelter so please bear this in mind when booking your session. A doggy paddling pool is available during the warmer months. In extreme circumstances, we will contact you to rearrange your session should we deem conditions to be unsafe (strong winds, waterlogged ground, too hot etc).
The health and welfare of our day care dogs - who use the field during the day, during the week - as well as all the dogs using our field is our top priority. Please ensure your dogs are up to date with all recommended treatments including kennel cough/titre testing. Under no circumstances should you attend the Paddock if your dog is poorly - including if it is vomiting, has diarrhea or suspected kennel cough. Paws And Play Yorkshire Ltd reserves the right to ask to see a copy of your dog's vaccination record prior to using the Paddock.
We would like to limit the number of people in the Paddock to a maximum of 7 please! The maximum people limit does not apply to puppy socialisation, breed meets or dog birthday parties.
Any member of the dog's family is welcome! But please be aware, anyone within the Paddock during your session is your responsibility. Please ensure children do not climb on anything, including the fence. The paddling pools and water from the taps are also for dogs use only. The Paddock as a whole, including anything with in at, is for the use of our canine friends only. Paws & Play take no responsibility for any injury caused whilst using the Paddock.
We have a range of different facilities for the dogs to enjoy whilst in the paddock including play houses, tyres filled with sand, cable reels to climb on, paddling pools and raised platforms. You're more than welcome to bring your own toys too but please do ensure you take them away with you when your session ends. We have poo bags if you forget your own as well as a poo bin to dispose of all of your dogs waste. For the humans, we've got our car park, seats within the paddock but no toilets. We're in the process of getting a shelter but currently, there is no shelter.

We have dog trainers in the centre (both inside and outside) on a Monday evening (6pm - 8pm) as standard who are fantastic! Yes, we do! We're in the process of finalising the details for our puppy meets but what we do know is they will likely be on a Saturday morning & will be a great chance for young pups to socialize with other puppies in a safe, secure environment whilst their safety blanket (you, their owners) are present.
